Basketball Recap: Chief Ivan Blunka Comes Up Short

Chief Ivan Blunka was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 66-57 to the Koliganek Huskies. Unfortunately, that's the fifth time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, with their most recent loss being a 85-46 defeat on Friday.

Koliganek got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Andy Andrew out in front who posted 26 points. Andrew's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Asante Barnes, who had 15 points.

Chief Ivan Blunka's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Koliganek, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Chief Ivan Blunka wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 84-58 defeat against King Cove on the 26th. As for Koliganek, they have also already played their next game, a 78-38 loss against Manokotak on the 22nd.
