Mission Viejo won the last time they faced Long Beach Poly and things went their way on Friday too. The Diablos took their matchup with ease, bagging a 56-7 win over the Jackrabbits. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7.

It was another big night for Luke Fahey, who threw for 323 yards and two TDs while completing 91.3% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Jack Junker did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 125 receiving yards.

Mission Viejo didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Colin Burke, Zachary Foeldi, and Jovani 'Jojo' Reed picked up one apiece.

The victory made it two in a row for Mission Viejo and bumps their season record up to 6-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 28 points in those games. As for Long Beach Poly, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Mission Viejo will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on San Clemente at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. The contest will give the Diablos their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Long Beach Poly, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 24-22 win against Millikan on the 10th.
