Basketball Recap: Gates Chili Takes a Loss

Gates Chili was the 69-63 winner over Brockport when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Gates Chili Spartans took a 67-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brockport Blue Devils. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Spartans came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 652nd).

Gates Chili's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Brockport, their win bumped their record up to 4-11.

Gates Chili will challenge Churchville-Chili at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Brockport, they will face off against Eastridge at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Eastridge's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Brockport has been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
