Softball Game Preview: West Henderson Falcons vs. Franklin Panthers

West Henderson and Franklin are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Falcons will venture away from home to square off against the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

West Henderson's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against North Henderson as they made off with a 13-0 win.

Bri Summey and Marley Orr did most of the damage at the plate: Summey went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Orr went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Summey has posted since back in March. Makena Henderson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: West Henderson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in ten consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Franklin had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. They blew past the Eagles 29-0. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

West Henderson's record now sits at 15-4. As for Franklin, their record is now 16-6.
