McKena Harvey and Camile Murphy made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Harvey tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Murphy tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At the plate, Harvey went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Murphy went 2-for-4 with two triples and two RBI.

In other batting news, Leah Cawthon was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2025.

Chico kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pacific Grove). They put the hurt on Soledad with a sharp 18-4 win on Wednesday. Considering the Breakers have won four games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Like Chico, Pacific Grove also got a great game from a two-way player: Lyvia Maciel. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Maciel has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with six RBI, two doubles, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Destiny Buckles, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Kendra Pottharst, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Pacific Grove pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 11.8 runs this season. As for Chico, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both Chico and Pacific Grove just can't seem to miss. The Panthers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Pacific Grove struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Chico couldn't quite get it done against Pacific Grove in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 as they fell 5-1. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
