Cedartown hadn't done well against Hiram recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Hornets 2-1. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 2-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Cedartown had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-20, 15-10.

Bella Rosser paced Cedartown's offense, picking up ten kills. Rosser got some help from Kinleigh Camp and her 14 assists. Rosser was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Cedartown has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-15 record this season. As for Hiram, they dropped their record down to 1-14 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Cedartown will square off against Heritage at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Hiram, they are taking a road trip to face off against Allatoona at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
