Football Game Preview: Palmetto Panthers vs. Ferguson Falcons

The Palmetto Panthers will take on the Ferguson Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Ferguson will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Palmetto extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday. The Panthers never let Southridge get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory. The final result isn't all the surprising considering the Panthers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Spartans are ranked 59th).

Meanwhile, Ferguson entered their tilt with Coral Gables on Wednesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They breezed past the Cavaliers to the tune of 31-0. Ferguson's win was all the more impressive since the Cavaliers were averaging only 12.86 points allowed on the season.

Palmetto's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Ferguson, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.

Everything came up roses for Palmetto against Ferguson when the teams last played back in February, as the team secured a 27-0 victory. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
