The Yuma Catholic Shamrocks will venture away from home to square off against the Northwest Christian Crusaders at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Yuma Catholic's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Northwest Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Yuma Catholic made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Seton Catholic, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Yuma Catholic never let Seton Catholic get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Tuesday. The Shamrocks' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
The result came thanks to Cherish Trujillo's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Yuma Catholic got a massive performance out of Autumn Moffatt, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Moffatt a new career-high. Alondra Cordova was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Northwest Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They skirted past Kingman 13-12. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Crusaders considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
Kinsey Unger was a standout: she scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Riley Jeide also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Northwest Christian pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Yuma Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
Yuma Catholic took their win against Northwest Christian in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Yuma Catholic since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
