Volleyball Recap: Sahuaro Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Sahuaro lost against Ironwood Ridge back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Cougars came up short against the Nighthawks, falling 3-0. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-11, 25-7.

Naomi Porter paced Sahuaro's offense, picking up five kills. Porter got some help from Aysha McCraney and her four assists.

Ironwood Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Selena Serrano, who had seven digs and two aces. Kendyl Shields also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Sahuaro's defeat dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Ironwood Ridge, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-10.

Looking ahead, Sahuaro will face off against Cholla at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ironwood Ridge, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Salpointe Catholic on the 30th.
