Baseball Recap: Harry S. Truman Tigers vs. Council Rock North Indians
Harry S. Truman had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 2-13 to make it four. They lost 10-3 to the Council Rock North Indians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 on Monday.
As for Council Rock North, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games.
For Council Rock North's part, Will Godonis tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave Godonis a new career-high.
At the plate, Will Seiler was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Council Rock North is undefeated when Seiler posts two or more runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Noah Furman also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Harry S. Truman wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-1 loss against Roman Catholic on the 30th. Hopefully Council Rock North paid attention to the Tigers' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
