Volleyball Recap: Dighton-Rehoboth Regional Comes Up Short

If Dighton-Rehoboth Regional was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Seekonk on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons came up short against the Bishop Stang Spartans on Friday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on October 4th.

Dighton-Rehoboth Regional was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-15, 25-19.

Bishop Stang got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Anna Higgins out in front who had nine digs and four aces. Higgins has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played. Maggie Martin was another key player, getting six kills and five aces.

Dighton-Rehoboth Regional has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Bishop Stang, their win ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 7-11.

As of now, neither Dighton-Rehoboth Regional nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
