Soccer Recap: Gaffney Takes a Loss

Gaffney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 5-1 to the Eastside Eagles. While losing is never fun, Gaffney can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 156th, while Eastside are ranked 15th).

Gaffney's goal came courtesy of Sergio Vargas, which was the first he's scored this season.

Gaffney's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11-1. As for Eastside, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Gaffney didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 1-1 loss against Myrtle Beach on the 9th. Eastside has also already played their next game (against Wade Hampton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
