Volleyball Recap: The Academy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

The Academy was the 3-1 winner over Prospect Ridge Academy when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Miners on Thursday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 29-31, 25-23, 25-15, 32-30.

Olivia Deleon paced The Academy's offense, picking up 17 kills. Deleon got some help from Eva Rodriquez and her 23 assists. Finally, Olivia Luxner kept The Academy's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

The Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1.

The Academy has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Peak to Peak on the 14th. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Denver Christian on the 14th.
