Basketball Game Preview: Mayfield Trojans vs. Organ Mountain Knights

Mayfield and Organ Mountain are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Mayfield Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Organ Mountain Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Mayfield will be looking to extend their current 15-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Mayfield was fully in charge, breezing past Gadsden 61-29. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Organ Mountain played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Centennial, falling 60-36. The Knights were down 48-23 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Mayfield's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-3. As for Organ Mountain, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Mayfield couldn't quite finish off Organ Mountain in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 and fell 43-40. Can Mayfield avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
