Basketball Recap: Aureonna Diaz's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Holly over Crowley County

Holly lost against Crowley County back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Holly Wildcats took a 48-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crowley County Chargers.

Holly's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aureonna Diaz, who posted eight points.

Crowley County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ashlyn Berg, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kamil Lovato, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 11 points.

Holly now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Crowley County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.

Holly didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-40 loss against Granada on the 16th. Crowley County has also already played their next contest, a 39-36 victory against Peyton on the 17th.
