Basketball Game Preview: Nansemond River Warriors vs. Grassfield Grizzlies

The Nansemond River Warriors will challenge the Grassfield Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Nansemond River is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Virginia's top teams: King's Fork, who was ranked 11th at the time (Nansemond River was ranked 18th). Nansemond River fell to King's Fork 51-46. The Warriors have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Grassfield waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They breezed past the Hawks to the tune of 75-47. The Grizzlies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 24 points or more this season.

Grassfield's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points over those games. As for Nansemond River, their loss dropped their record down to 15-5.
