Basketball Recap: Cusick Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Cusick won the last time they faced Curlew and things went their way on Thursday too. The Cusick Panthers strolled past the Curlew Cougars with points to spare, taking the game 54-39. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while the Cougars are ranked 352nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Curlew lost, don't look at Steven White. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 9 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds. Those 12 points gave White a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Boyce, who posted four points and seven rebounds.
