Basketball Recap: Montgomery Comes Up Short

After flying high against Canyon Lake last Saturday, Montgomery came back down to earth. The Montgomery Bears opened the new year with a less-than-successful 59-48 loss to the Huntsville Hornets. The Bears were probably out for revenge after losing 62-59 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Montgomery has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season. As for Huntsville, they pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing A&M Consolidated the next time they take the court. Montgomery will host A&M Consolidated at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Huntsville will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
