Preview: Moore County Raiders vs. McKenzie Rebels
Moore County is on a 12-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while McKenzie is on a 12-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Moore County Raiders will take on the McKenzie Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Moore County had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Eagleville, posting a 35-0 victory on the road. Moore County's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Dawson White was his usual excellent self, throwing for 176 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Logan Hegwood, who rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Meanwhile, McKenzie got themselves on the board against Collinwood on Friday, but Collinwood never followed suit. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 43-0 victory over the Trojans.
Their wins bumped Moore County to 12-0 and McKenzie to 11-1.
Moore County took a serious blow against McKenzie in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 56-21. Will Moore County have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more football content.
