Basketball Recap: Belmont Takes a Loss

Belmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Bernstein Dragons 107-25. The Sentinels were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 58-12.

Bernstein's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jeff Fields led the charge by going 7 for 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 27 points. Those 27 points gave Fields a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Greg Griffin, who went 8 of 15 to rack up 20 points along with eight assists and four steals.

Belmont's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Bernstein, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Belmont will host Contreras at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bernstein, they will challenge Roosevelt at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
