Soccer Game Preview: Columbia vs. Salem

The Columbia Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Salem Seminoles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Columbia is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against South Atlanta last Tuesday. The Eagles fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 4-3.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten goals the game before, Salem was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They came up short against Greene County, falling 6-0.

Columbia has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Salem, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Columbia suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Salem in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
