Soccer Recap: Westfield Takes a Loss

Westfield lost against MacArthur back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Westfield Mustangs lost 9-1 to the MacArthur Generals. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 709th, while the Generals are ranked 291st).

Westfield has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. The win was the ninth in a row for MacArthur, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.

Coming up, Westfield will venture away from home to square off against Benjamin Davis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Westfield will be up against Benjamin Davis' rather soft defense (which has allowed 6.55 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for MacArthur, they will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against Dekaney at 7:30 p.m.
