Maize South lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Derby, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. The Mavericks never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Mavericks, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Maize South pushed their record up to 15-7-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Derby, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.
