Basketball Recap: Neshoba Central Falls Short Against Ranked Choctaw Central

On Tuesday, Neshoba Central faced Choctaw Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Neshoba Central Rockets fell 56-44 to the Choctaw Central Warriors. The Rockets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 59-56.

Despite the loss, Neshoba Central still got an impressive performance from Kyli Truss, who posted 22 points along with seven boards and four steals. The match was Truss' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jiar Henry, who had nine points and five steals.

Neshoba Central now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Choctaw Central, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Neshoba Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-28 win against Columbus on the 20th. Choctaw Central and Leake Academy will round out the year against one another at at 2:30 p.m. on December 27th. Leake Academy will roll in looking for their 19th straight victory, something Choctaw Central surely won't give up without a fight.
