Basketball Game Preview: Dublin Fighting Irish vs. Dodge County Indians

Dublin is 9-1 against Dodge County since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Dublin Fighting Irish will host the Dodge County Indians at 7:30 p.m. Dublin will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Dublin beat Washington County 57-49. Given the Fighting Irish's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Golden Hawks are ranked 362nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Aj Johnson was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 14 on his way to 25 points and six rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2024. Tristian Bell was another key player, putting up 12 points and six boards.

Dublin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Dodge County didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Jefferson County on Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 55-49 win. That's two games straight that the Indians have won by exactly six points.

Dodge County has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Dublin, they pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Dublin was able to grind out a solid win over Dodge County in their previous meeting on Saturday, winning 59-50. Will Dublin repeat their success, or does Dodge County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
