Isaiah Bragg leads a balanced attack to beat Miami Christian

Recap: Homestead Broncos vs. Miami Christian Victors

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Palmetto, the Homestead Broncos were happy to have found some success on Monday. They had just enough and edged Miami Christian out 74-71. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Homestead's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Bragg led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Bragg continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Anthony Reed was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.

Despite the loss, Miami Christian still got an impressive performance from Sebastian Gonzalez, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 15 rebounds. The game was Gonzalez's 14th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Chris Bravo, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.

Homestead's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Miami Christian, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-5.

Homestead is on the road again on Friday and play against Miami Beach at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. As for Miami Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Edison Private at 7:30 p.m. Edison Private will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 803rd, while Miami Christian is ranked 217th).
