Baseball Game Preview: Morristown-Beard Crimson vs. Boonton Bombers

For the second straight game, Morristown-Beard will face off against Boonton. The Crimson will head out to take on the Bombers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Morristown-Beard took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They put the hurt on Boonton with a sharp 13-2 victory. The Crimson haven't had any issues with the Bombers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

John Cartaina made a splash no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Cartaina was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Morristown-Beard let Alex Hriczov and Sam Cherins run wild. Hriczov scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Cherins scored a run while going 3-for-5. Chase Zaikov was another key player, scoring four runs while going 2-for-3.

Morristown-Beard's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Boonton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
