Soccer Game Preview: El Monte vs. Arroyo

For the first time this season, El Monte will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are taking a road trip to face off against the Arroyo Knights at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, El Monte narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Wilson 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for El Monte.

They hit Wilson with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Javier Rodriguez, Erick Andrade, and Leonardo Moreno.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Arroyo made sure to put some goals up on the board against Bassett on Friday. They blew past the Olympians 4-1. The result was nothing new for Arroyo, who have now won three contests by three goals or more so far this season.

The win got El Monte back to even at 3-3. As for Arroyo, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0-1.

El Monte couldn't quite get it done against Arroyo in their previous meeting back in January as they fell 3-1. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
