Baseball Game Preview: Carbon Hill Bulldogs vs. Hubbertville Lions

The Carbon Hill Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Hubbertville Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hubbertville took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Carbon Hill, who comes in off a win.

Carbon Hill will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Curry, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Carbon Hill sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over Curry on Tuesday.

Caleb Meeks was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Ryley Bainbridge, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Hubbertville came up short against Addison on Tuesday and fell 5-1.

Carbon Hill's win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4. As for Hubbertville, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-1.

Carbon Hill took their victory against Hubbertville in their previous matchup back in March of 2017 by a conclusive 11-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carbon Hill since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
