Baseball Game Preview: University Red Devils vs. Stuart Hall Knights

For the second straight game, University will face off against Stuart Hall. The Red Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. University is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 15 games.

University's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Stuart Hall with a sharp 8-0 victory. Considering the Red Devils have won 14 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Rohan Hartigan tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over 6.1 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, Mattie Grisso and Jett Messenger did most of the damage at the plate: Grisso went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Messenger went 3-for-4 with one run and one double. Grisso has been hot recently, having posted at least one triple the last three times he's played.

University was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in 17 consecutive contests.

University pushed their record up to 20-1 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for Stuart Hall, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 13-1.
