Volleyball Recap: Howell North Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

While Howell North's victory against Lutheran wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights had just enough and edged out the Cougars 3-2. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 3-0 victory back in April.

Sam Fitzsimmons paced Howell North's offense, picking up 24 kills. Fitzsimmons got some help from Luke Hollinger and his 61 assists. Finally, Boston Party Winchester and Noah Rowland kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked two attacks.

Lutheran's loss on Wednesday came despite strong showings from Oliver Bertel and Rylan Versemann. Bertel had 13 digs, while Versemann had 16 kills, 12 digs, and one block.

Howell North is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for Lutheran, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 24-9-1.

As of now, neither Howell North nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
