Basketball Game Preview: Withrow Tigers vs. Aiken Falcons

The Withrow Tigers will challenge the Aiken Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Withrow has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with five straight losses, while Aiken will come in with 16 straight wins.

On Tuesday, Withrow was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-53 to Woodward.

Meanwhile, Aiken strolled past Walton-Verona with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 77-59. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked sixth in Ohio, while the Bearcats are ranked 55th in Kentucky), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Aiken pushed their record up to 16-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.8 points per game. As for Withrow, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.

Withrow was taken down by Aiken 90-42 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Withrow was down 48-25.
