Basketball Recap: Ruthanna Wilson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Manila over Tabiona

After flying high against Altamont last Saturday, Manila came back down to earth. The Manila Mustangs fell 48-40 to the Tabiona Tigers on Friday. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 52-49.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ruthanna Wilson, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 14 boards. Wilson also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Manila is 9-2 when she posts at least three steals, but 4-7 otherwise. Kallie Bair was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.

Manila's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Tabiona, their win bumped their record up to 18-4.

Manila didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-48 loss against Wendover on the 15th. As for Tabiona, they have also already played their next game, a 37-29 defeat against Rich on the 15th.
