Amiri Mumba Goes Supernova in Highland Win

Starting off the list is Highland's Amiri Mumba, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Mumba rushed for 276 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in August.

Unfortunately for Belen, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Mumba. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Mumba saw the Eagles), he rushed for 335 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown.

Kyle Evenhus Delivers Best Effort of Season

Los Alamos was led to victory by Kyle Evenhus, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Saturday. Evenhus threw for 194 yards and five touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.

The win was the fifth in a row for Los Alamos, bringing their record for this year to 5-3. Evenhus and Los Alamos will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Miyamura at 7:00 p.m. on November 1st.

Chris Melendez Turns in Another Game with at Least 113 Receiving Yards

Chris Melendez's receiving tear continued on Saturday as he dropped his third-straight game with 113+ receiving yards. He made three total tackles. He also hauled in two receiving touchdowns, which is notable because Valley is 2-1 when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns, but 1-4 otherwise.

Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 3-5 record this season. Melendez and Valley will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Rio Grande at 7:00 p.m. on October 31st.

Salid Rashid Turns in Season-Best Effort

Salid Rashid produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Miyamura to the win on Friday. Rashid threw for 247 yards and five touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. Miyamura is 4-1 when Rashid posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

The victory was the third in a row for Miyamura, bringing their record for this year to 5-3. They and Del Norte are set to duel on Friday.

Jordan Herrera's Big Game Leads Los Alamos over Rio Grande

The second Los Alamos player making an appearance here is Jordan Herrera, and for good reason. He rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, and also caught a touchdown. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 123 rushing yards.

This season, Herrera has run in 12 touchdowns while averaging 120.5 rushing yards per game.
