Volleyball Recap: Diller-Odell Comes Up Short

Diller-Odell lost against Fillmore Central back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Griffin fell 3-1 to the Panthers. While the Griffin didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 25-20 in the first set.

Diller-Odell started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-22, 25-15, 25-12.

Aidan McKinney paced Diller-Odell's offense, picking up 18 kills. McKinney got some help from Berkelee Beekman and her 32 assists. Beekman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Among those leading the charge was Ashlynn Childs, who had 15 digs and two aces. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game.

Diller-Odell has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 14 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Fillmore Central, their win ended a ten-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-13.

Diller-Odell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer on the 9th. As for Fillmore Central, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Sandy Creek on the 9th.
