Basketball Recap: Holly Takes a Loss

Holly lost against Eads back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Holly Wildcats were dealt a 57-25 loss at the hands of the Eads Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wildcats have suffered against the Eagles since December 17, 2015.

Leading Eads to victory were Anna Wollert and Tailee Weeks-Johnson. Wollert went 5-for-7 on her way to 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Weeks-Johnson posted 11 points. What's more, Wollert also posted a 71% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Gyurman, who put up eight points.

Holly's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Eads, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 18-3.

Holly does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eads, they have already played their next game, a 59-20 win against Walsh on the 28th.
