Volleyball Recap: Polk County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Polk County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences Patriots, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 4th.

While Polk County was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences' winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-18, 25-19.

Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences was led to victory by Brynne Burkhart and Amanda Gardner. Burkhart had 30 assists and three aces, while Gardner had 11 kills, four digs, and four aces. Burkhart is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last 11 games she's played. Savannah Moore was another key player, getting ten kills.

Polk County's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 19 of their last 21 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Polk County will host Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hixson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
