Softball Recap: Curry Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Victory

Curry waltzed into their contest on Monday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cordova Blue Devils a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Yellowjackets have won 22 games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Skiely Perry, who gave up just five hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Cordova off the board. Perry has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Leah Clay was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Shileigh Williams, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Curry always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .514 or higher in six consecutive matchups.

Curry's win bumped their record up to 32-14-1. As for Cordova, they dropped their record down to 29-18 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither Curry nor the Blue Devils have any future games scheduled.
