Bartow gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 65-21 win over the George Jenkins Eagles. The Yellow Jackets pushed the score to 55-17 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles had no chance of recovering from.

Bartow found their leader in sophomore Derwyn Link, who went 8-for-10 to rack up 17 points along with six boards and four steals. Link is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Matthew Williams, who shot 62% from the field on his way to 17 points and five steals.

George Jenkins' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Bartow wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 77-64 victory against Olympia on the 21st. As for George Jenkins, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-56 loss against Sebring on the 21st.
