Simla was handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Fowler on Saturday. The Simla Cubs breezed by the Fowler Grizzlies to the tune of 68-16. The Cubs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 35 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Simla to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carlee Cox, who went 8 for 16 on her way to 18 points along with seven boards and six steals. Cox has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last four times she's played. Kylie Maranville was another key player, putting up 15 points in addition to seven steals and five assists.
Simla was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fowler only posted four assists.
Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lawren Johnson, who posted six points and 11 rebounds.
Simla is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 49.3 points. As for Fowler, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
