Basketball Recap: Lake Marion Comes Up Short

After flying high against Calhoun County last Thursday, Lake Marion came back down to earth. The Lake Marion Gators were beaten by the White Knoll Timberwolves 69-42 on Friday. It was the first time this season that the Gators let down their fans at home.

White Knoll was led to victory by Bryson Schofield and Ryhan Cepeda. Schofield dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds, while Cepeda went 7 of 10 on his way to 16 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Jennings, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Lake Marion's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3. As for White Knoll, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Lake Marion will look to defend their home court on Friday against Timberland. As for White Knoll, they and Bethune-Bowman will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
