Basketball Recap: North Pitt Makes It Eight in a Row on the Road

North Pitt won the last time they faced New Bern, and Zihanna Lightfoot did her part to make sure it happened again. The North Pitt Panthers snuck past the New Bern Bears with a 37-32 win on Monday thanks in part to Lightfoot, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 22 boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game.

When it comes to explaining why New Bern lost, don't look at Makenzie Richardson. Despite the final result, she posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amiyah Luther, who put up six points.

North Pitt pushed their record up to 4-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for New Bern, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

North Pitt didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-39 loss against Asheville School (Independent) on the 26th. As for New Bern, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 49-43 win against Ayden - Grifton on the 26th.
