Luella suffers fifth straight loss on the road

Recap: Luella Lions vs. Pace Academy Knights

The Luella Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. Their tough 63-42 loss to Pace Academy might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Luella can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while Pace Academy is ranked 14th).

Pace Academy was led to victory by Eric Chatfield and Chandler Bing. Chatfield scored 21 points along with three steals, while Bing scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. The match was Chatfield's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lamar Moore, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and six assists.

Luella's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-9. As for Pace Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Luella will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Mt. Zion at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. As for Pace Academy, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Stockbridge at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully Stockbridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
