Softball Recap: Serena Takes a Loss

Serena fell victim to Newark and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Norsemen by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Huskers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Serena saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was RayElle Brennan, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Serena has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-6 record this season. As for Newark, they moved to 10-13-2 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

While Serena had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
