            Baseball Recap: Dexter Demons vs. Tularosa Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            Dexter had lost six straight on the road, but  on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 5-11 to make it seven. They lost  16-2 to the Tularosa Wildcats. The Demons were not able to make up for their  defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting  back in March of 2022.
As for Tularosa, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.1 runs over those games.
For Tularosa's part,  Daniel Yuzos made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 11 batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   four  hits. Those  11  strikeouts gave  Yuzos a new career-high. He was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with four  stolen bases and two  runs. He is becoming a predictor of Tularosa's success: when he posts  at  least two  runs the team is 8-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't).
 In other batting news,  Hunter Sewell was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with four  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  run. Those  four  RBI gave  him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Cameron Holguin, who  got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI.
 Dexter has already played their next match,  a  19-6  loss against Melrose on the 24th. As for Tularosa, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Texico  at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. The Wolverines have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.92  runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
