Basketball Recap: Pioneer Tech & Arts Academy Comes Up Short

Pioneer Tech & Arts Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 30th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 80-19 loss at the hands of the Cooper Bulldogs. Pioneer Tech & Arts Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-8.

Jequan Brown was his usual excellent self, going 11 for 17 on his way to 28 points along with eight steals and six boards for Cooper. With that strong performance, Brown is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game. Beachley Bills was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 11 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals.

Pioneer Tech & Arts Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-26. As for Cooper, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pioneer Tech & Arts Academy will welcome Cumby at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cumby is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.9 points per game this season. As for Cooper, they will square off against North Hopkins at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cooper is on a six-game streak of home wins, North Hopkins a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
