Football Game Preview: Avalon Lancers vs. Southlands Christian Eagles + Official Tickets

The Avalon Lancers will head out on the road to square off against the Southlands Christian Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Avalon lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Calvary Chapel, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's game. The Lancers blew past the Grizzlies, posting a 64-6 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Lancers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 94th).

Meanwhile, Southlands Christian put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Vista Meridian 54-14.

Southlands Christian's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Avalon, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Everything came up roses for Avalon against Southlands Christian in their previous meeting back in October of 2021, as the squad secured a 44-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
