Softball Recap: Blanchester Wildcats vs. Felicity-Franklin Cardinals

There's no place like home for Blanchester, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. Everything went their way against the Felicity-Franklin Cardinals on Wednesday as they made off with a 16-1 victory. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Reece Ledford made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Ledford was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jocelyn Lansing was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bailie Bare, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Blanchester always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .786. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Felicity-Franklin only posted an OBP of .364.

Blanchester's record is now 4-6. As for Felicity-Franklin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
