Softball Game Preview: Christian Patriots vs. Poway Titans

The Christian Patriots will be taking part in a tournament against the Poway Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Poway will be up against a hot Christian team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Christian's pitcher stepped up to hand San Marcos a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday.

The result came thanks to Ava Barrios's shutout, as she gave up just four hits. What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Lucy Sherburne was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Moody, who went 2-for-3 with one triple.

Meanwhile, Poway sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Santana on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Titans.

Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Poway, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
