NFCA MaxPreps Awards for the Week Ending May 2nd

MaxPreps NFCA Players of the Week (Week 4/25 - 5/2)

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Seniors Chelsea Lisikatos of Haldane (Cold Spring, N.Y.) High School, Taylor Rains of Chase County (Cottonwood Falls, Kan.) High School, Brae Roy of Westview (Avondale, Ariz.) High School, and juniors Natalie Budde of Howell (Howell, Mich.) High School, and Natalie High of Forest Hills (Marshville, N.C.) High School have all been named as the High School Players of the Week for their respective regions by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for games played through May 2, 2011.

In the East Region, Lisikatos pitched three complete games, two of which were shutouts, yielding only three hits in 19 innings while striking out 38. At the plate the senior helped her cause with two doubles, two triples, a home run and 10 RBI. On the year the senior is hitting .679 with a 1.464 slugging percentage and owns a .24 ERA. The three wins this week helped the Blue Devils improve to 9-0 on the season.

In the South Central Region, Rains went 8 for 12 at the plate with a double, three home runs, 9 runs scored and 14 RBI. The wins this week improved the Bulldogs to 11-1 and first place in conference standings. The senior leads her team with a .571 batting average and 1.125 slugging percentage with 38 RBI and 28 runs scored.

Representing the West Region, Roy pitched her team to three victories with a .75 ERA while striking out 26. At the plate she hit .625 on the week with two home runs and 10 RBI. The senior's efforts helped the Knights improve to 21-9 overall and 10-2 in conference play.

In the North Region, Budde hit .722 for the week, with a slugging percentage 1.389 and 17 total bases that included two doubles, two home runs and 5 RBI. The junior infielder is hitting .619 on the season for the 6-2 Highlanders.

From the South Region, High had a huge week at the plate. The junior hit .900 with two doubles, a triple, two home runs and 11 RBI recording an impressive 2.000 slugging percentage. Her efforts at the plate helped the Yellowjackets to three victories on the week including a key conference win over Piedmont.
